 At Solid Ground Enterprises, coffee isn't just a business—it’s part of who we are. For Jenn, it started early. Her mom founded Scioto Valley Coffee, and Jenn grew up in the shop, learning the business firsthand. From working behind the counter to seeing regulars become familiar faces, she developed a deep understanding of what makes a coffee shop more than just a place to grab a drink. It’s a space where connections are built.

Her passion for coffee took her beyond her hometown. Before launching Solid Ground Enterprises, Jenn worked for the local roaster Crimson Cup, where she traveled the country helping over 30 independent coffee shops open their doors. She also visited Central America, connecting directly with coffee farmers and their families to understand their craft and the impact of ethical sourcing. That experience gave her a unique perspective on what makes a coffee business thrive—not just great coffee, but the relationships, culture, and care that go into every cup.

For Tim, the journey was different. After spending over two decades on the business side of healthcare, he built a career around sales, marketing, strategy, and financial stewardship. With an MBA in marketing, he honed his expertise in branding and customer engagement, ensuring businesses grow with purpose and vision. But the pull to create something more tangible, rooted in community and personal connection, led him to make the leap into entrepreneurship. Once a Diet Coke addict, he resisted the switch to coffee until Jenn convinced him. One cup at a time, he discovered not just the craft behind the perfect roast but the relationships that form around a good cup. That realization sparked a passion for curating spaces where coffee is more than just a drink. It’s an experience shared.

Together, Tim and Jenn built Solid Ground Enterprises as a reflection of their values. It’s not a franchise or a faceless corporation, but a business rooted in meaningful connections, local ties, and the simple joy of a well-made cup of coffee. Every shop in the Solid Ground family carries its own story, shaped by the people who call it home, and that’s exactly how they intend to keep it.
